Programs & Activities

• Margaret Hudson Chocolate Cravings – In this project, we partner with Margaret Hudson to assist with their annual fundraiser by providing manpower for the event held in February. Margaret Hudson helps pregnant teens and young mothers with parenting skills and education assistance.

• Salvation Army Dinner – The Chapter buys, prepares and serves dinner to the residents of Salvation Army. Generally, we prepare a main course, bread and a dessert. The event is held during March and November of each year.

• Easter Egg Hunt – We distribute over 1,000 eggs filled with candy, prizes and money at Sandburg Elementary’s playground in April for children to hunt. We also prepare several prize baskets for the children.

• Meet the Heroes – In this project, we have the police, fire and ambulance set up stations at Sandburg Elementary and children are educated about how each Hero does his or her job. The children ask questions and examine the tools used to help each Hero perform their job.

• Back to School Shopping Spree – We take several children that need assistance from our adopted school, Sandburg Elementary, and other children shopping for new school clothes. The project is run during August and we help approximately fifteen to twenty children.

• Tulsa State Fair Beverage Booths – This is our annual fundraiser that is held at the Tulsa State Fair
where we have two beverage booths.

• Christmas Food Baskets – The chapter buys and prepares food baskets for approximately fifty families. We buy enough food to supply Christmas dinner and other food items that will supply a family with enough food to last through the holiday season.

• Secret Santa – With this project, the Chapter gets ten family names and buys “wish list” items. This project is for our adopted school Sandburg Elementary.

• Downtown Tulsa Christmas Parade – In this activity, our Chapter coordinates the floats, bands and other participants in the parade. The Tulsa Parade was started by the Tulsa Jaycees many years ago.

• Sandburg Elementary – This is our adopted school that we do many projects during the year. Along with the items listed above, we also provide support for school by buying books, supporting after school parties and providing resume help for the parents of the school.

• JAYS – This is a national project with the Jaycees to prevent children from smoking. The project is called Jaycees Against Youth Smoking. We provide educational series that show children the dangers of smoking in a classroom setting. In addition, we have many social, individual development and other community activities. Please check our calendar or Jaycee Blast for current projects coming up in the near future. Also, for more information, please contact the President, Ronda Sarty at envogue@tulsacoxmail.com.
